The BPE XMOD contains a diagnostic firmware image for updating the BPE prior to running the diagnostics. When the BPE XMOD is not present, the diagnostic run proceeds without the firmware update.
Download and install the VPEX BPE XMOD (or the equivalent Controlling Bridge List) with the command "download image".
